Kachin Youths organize Kahprek Competition for the first Time in Laiza

Kachin Youths on Kahprek competition in Action

Kachin Youths organize Kahprek, a traditinal and very affective martial art, competition at Sut Awng Stadium here in Laiza. There are more than twenty competitors participated in the first round of the Martial Art competition. The competitors are divided into three categories according to their belts, viz., White, yellow and the highest belt was green for the competition. The competition continues from 2:00 PM and the Final will be held in Myu Lawt Wunli Hall on 4 February 2008 at 9:00 AM onwards.

Most of the participants are from Myitkyina, capital of the Kachin State and four from Laiza itself. It is also reported that the competition was pretty crowded and fun.
